'Select Reject Reconfigure' (2012, 02:39 Mins.) first introduced the recurring title of ‘Select Reject Reconfigure’ into my research into speech and direct address to camera – my PhD research was eventually titled 'Select Reject Reconfigure: Editing Speech in Artists’ Direct Address to Camera' (2016). The video is an experiment in editing where one set of recorded material was edited in nine different ways and organised in a table of linguistic, technological and philosophical intentions against techniques
of selection, rejection and reconfiguration.
